Our 2019 The Leap Cabernet Sauvignon represents the distinctive personality of our estate vineyard and this fantastic vintage, showing a plethora of lovely dark berry fruits with layered richness and intensity. This wine is a classic example of Stags Leap District Cabernet, offering aromas and flavors of juicy blackcurrants, cassis, dark blackberry, and black cherry, alongside lifted, perfumed notes of wild violet and savory chaparral herbs. Full of depth and generosity, this Cabernet is vibrant, viscous, and brooding, with mouth-enveloping texture and balance. With full-bodied elegance and structure, secondary notes of graphite, espresso, dark chocolate, and black licorice come through on the lengthy finish alongside silky, mouth-coating tannins, and freshness. Certainly plentiful, and robust, but also softened by the terroir elements coming through from the balance, delicacy, and finesse that has become synonymous with Stags Leap estate wines. Drinking beautifully upon release, while also demonstrating the opulence and grace of the estate, this Cabernet is certain to age impeccably when cellared properly.
