Marqus de Murrieta Capellanais a white wine from theD.O Riojaproduced byMarqus de Murrieta. The winery, located in Logroo, is one of the oldest in Spain, dating back to 1852 whenLuciano de Murrieta began to produce and sell the first wines from La Rioja. Marqus de Murrieta Capellana is made exclusively using Viura grapes. The grapes come from ancient vineyards, from vines planted in 1945. The vineyards are located at an altitude of around 485m, one of the highest points of the Ygay estate. The production ofMarqus de Murrieta Capellana begins with the harvest, which is carried out manually, in September. Once at the winery, the bunches are slowly and lightly pressed, which helps extract the best aromas of the wine. Following this, the juice is left to ferment in Stainless Steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 10 C. After fermentation, the wine is aged for 15 months in 225litre capacity new French oak barrels. We recommend that you allow the wine to aerate one hour before serving.
