Aromas of ripe strawberry and red cherry pick up a hint of the wild, herby, scrub note the French call “garrigue.” On the palate the fruit is reallyripe – cherry, strawberry, raspberry – that’s kept from going over the edge by a lovely sense of purity and finesse. Fine tannins and a squirt of cherry juice acidity cleans up a fun, fruity, dry, finish. A patio pounder that can take a chill if you like and will certainly show nicely with grilled summer vegetables and romesco sauce. Or sausages. Or burgers. Or Tuesday night.
