Its the result of a fifteen-year resting spell in Chardonnay casks, sourced by Glenmorangies Director of Whisky Creation, Bill Lumsden, from the Sonoma-Cutrer winery in California.The Glenmorangie Company has introduced Glenmorangie Sonoma-Cutrer Reserve whisky. This 25-year-old single malt whisky is the product of getting finished in Chardonnay wine casks from Californias Sonoma Valley. Only 1000 bottles of the whisky have been created. The whisky is the product of being rested in 15 years in the casks. It exudes gentle, floral aromas and citrus and vanilla on the palate. The subtle and honeyed finish is endowed with hints of cocoa powder, toffee apple and fudge. Bottled at 55.7 percent ABV, the whisky will be made available to Mot Hennessy UKs private client team. It comes with a price of 2,442 USD per 700ml bottle.
