2023 Ardbeg Heavy Vapours Committee Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky 750ml

As part of Ardbeg Day 2023, the Heavy Vapours Committee Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky was unveiled. This 100.4-proof smoke bomb has been dubbed by Ardbeg distillery as “the most full-blown Ardbeg ever,” characterized by its potent earthiness, dark chocolate, and sharp peppermint notes.
In the making of this release, the purifier connected to the still was removed by the distillers to impart more smoke, resulting in a bottled, non-chill filtered whisky. The Ardbeg 2023 Heavy Vapours is a masterful experimental whisky crafted by the Director of Whisky Creation, Dr. Bill Lumsden of Ardbeg.
This limited-release single malt offers a heady nose of thick smoke, dark earth, sugar, creosote-coated rope, chocolate, and hints of smoked fish. The palate is rich and complex, featuring layers of bittersweetness, minerals, herbs, mint, and chocolate coffee. From the first sip to the very last pour, this whisky is a splendid splash of smoky goodness that is sure to impress with its dramatic, layered, and complex flavor profile.
