The history of the Frescobaldi family starts over a thousand years ago and is closely connected with the history of Tuscany. At the high point of medieval Florence, the Frescobaldi’s spread their influence as bankers, earning the title of treasures to the English crown. A little later, with the flowering of the Renaissance, they became patrons of major works in Florence, such as the construction of the Santa Trinita bridge and the Basilica of Santo Spirito. We want the family estates, with their vineyards, to be the expression of Tuscan diversity and for the wines to reflect each individual terroir, respecting their nature and authenticity. In the heart of the Maremma is the Tenuta Ammiraglia Estate. Its vineyards draw an evocative geometry on the hills, skimming the nearby Tyrrhenian coast.

Tasting Notes:
CastelGiocondo 2017 has an intense, bright ruby-red color. Like every vintage, 2017 brought with it a wonderfully elegant quality. The bouquet features fruity aromas, particularly at the beginning, with notes of raspberry, blackcurrant and even pomegranate. The beautifully harmonious and alluring hints of violet and rose are truly wonderful. Gradually, its maturity becomes truly remarkable, revealing spiced hints of white pepper, clove and star anise, toasted notes and more complex roasted notes and hints of licorice. On the palate, the tannic structure is dense and the mineral quality is wonderful. This is an incredibly harmonious wine with along, persistent finish
